Meet Mister E

👋  Welcome!

I’m Mr. E (Estevao), and I treat history as a mystery. With a background in Comparative Literature, History, and Psychology from USC, I view each historical event as a sort of crime scene, and challenge students to act as historical detectives—analyzing evidence, questioning the “official” story, and discovering that history is more than just names and dates; it’s the story of us.

My high school teaching experience covers US & World History, Psychology, Civics & US Government, and Mexican-American Studies. Before teaching, I worked as a content director, copywriter, journalist, graphic designer, and trivia host. I draw on my family background in civil rights and the law as well as these diverse professional experiences to enhance how my students learn. My lessons are rich in eye-catching visuals, compelling narratives, interactive activities, and mnemonic devices to help encode information into long-term memory.

In addition to creating educational content, I strive to serve as a mentor to support growth and success both inside and outside the classroom.

If you’re in my class, you can pop into my office hours on Wednesdays (3:20-3:50) through your Schoology calendar. If you’re not in my class, feel free to send me an email (historywithmistere@gmail.com) or send me a message on Instagram or TikTok.
