Course Overview

From Conquistadors to Chicanos

This multidisciplinary course analyzes the history and culture of people of Mexican origin in the United States. We will explore the ways Mexicans experience the complex class, caste, gender, and age divisions that helped shape Mexican history. Drawing on history, art, music, film, and the humanities, students will be able to intelligently discuss Mexican and Mexican American history and culture.
